December Newsletter: A Look Back at 2016
2016 AT OVLA: A YEAR IN REVIEW
2016 has been a transformative and dynamic year for OVLA. We have continued to solidify our programs and pro-bono monthly clinic, providing much needed legal services to Oregon's creative community.
We also want to express our gratitude for your support--we really couldn't have done it without you--THANK YOU!
Let's break 2016 down by the numbers:
1 new Executive Director. We brought Pollyanne Birge on as Executive Director in September--representing our first paid staff!
14 active volunteer attorneys giving their time in the legal clinic
65+ clients receiving pro-bono legal services through the OVLA clinic
$5,000 OVLA's first grant from Oregon Community Foundation
$35,000+ free billable hours served by our volunteer attorneys in one-on-one legal clinic consultations.
11 public events including collaborations with Portland Film Festival, Pacific Northwest College of Arts, Portland Art Museum, Oregon State Bar, Regional Arts and Culture Council, Secret Knowledge Conference, Vortex Music Magazine, Musician's Union Local 99, League of Women Designers, and the Russo Lee Gallery.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Thank you again to the Oregon State Bar, Intellectual Property Section for their annual contribution. This continuing investment helps OVLA grow as an organization and regional resource.
A big thank you to Immix Law Group for their generous donation of $1,000! Immix has put up a challenge to have 4 more Oregon law firms step up and match their contribution before the year's end. OVLA is a 501c3 organization and contributions are deductible as the law allows.
You can help too! However small or large, please use this opportunity to support OVLA's work through our new and convenient Paypal DONATE button. Managing those end-of-year contributions just got easier!
A SPECIAL THANKS TO 2016 SPONSORS + SUPPORTERS:
